COVID-19 PANDEMIC CASES IN PLAYERS LEADED TO POSTPONEMENT OF IPL MATCHES AND THIS FELITICIOUS DECISION ROLLED OUT FROM IPL GC & BCCI

INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE GOVERNING COUNCIL & BOARD OF CONTROL FOR CRICKET IN INDIA HAVE COLLECTIVELY TAKEN DECISION TO POSTPONE THE IPL MATCHES AS THE PLAYERS ARE BECOMING VICTIMS OF COVID-19 SECOND WAVE SURGE

IPL matches are being postponed immediately by cricket authorities for the safety and wellness of players. IPL matches started on 9th day in the month of April 2021. Last match as scheduled is to be played on 30th May'2021 but second wave pandemic surge has created havoc in the program of matches. 


Few matches have been played by teams as scheduled. Cricket lovers and audience were enjoying the matches sitting at home. As the matches are going on resurgence of Covid-19 has shown its impact on the players. Players slowly are becoming victims of the second wave pandemic.  Few important players at each team are effected by this pandemic. Teams performance is being slowly diminished with the main players out by pandemic.

Not only players but teams owners, supporters, organizers are facing difficulties due to the sudden impact of covid. Maintaining Everyones health and safety has become a tuff task for the organisers and are of opinion that everyone should immediately relieved from the matches to retain the health of players. 

Cheer moments will be missed by audience but the decision of postponing the IPL matches have become inevitable  considering the safety concerns of all the people involved with the IPL matches. 

Finally the postponement of IPL matches decision has been taken by the respective authorities like IPL GC and BCCI at right time i.e. on 4th May'2021. Appreciate the decision taken by the councils for their timely action and apt decision of postponing the matches immediately.  Rescheduled dates of matches to be announced later by councils if everything is set fine.

BCCI assured that every player involved in the season 2021 would be safeguarded and sent to their homes with necessary arrangements. Also BCCI and IPL GC (councils) have thanked all the supporters of IPL, Brand Owners, Team Owners, Sponsors, franchise owners, partners and all service providers for their best efforts in organizing and making the season 2021 a successful event till date. A special mention of thanks to Media and channels by Councils. 

PLAYERS TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS WHILE REACHING THEIR RESPECTIVE HOMES AS REQUESTED BY COUNCILS
