GOVT. HAS GIVEN A ONE TIME CHANCE TO TAX FILERS FOR FILING BELATED & REVISED RETURNS OF ASSESMENT YEAR 2020-21 (FINANCIAL YEAR 2019-20) TILL 31ST MAY'2021 CBDT has issued a Circular regarding the time extensions granted for certain due date compliances given in favour of requests made by stakeholders. Mainly focused about the Belated Tax Return filing, Tax Deducted at Source filings along with some timely filings are given extension due to covid surge.  CENTRAL GOVERNMENT has always been in favour of taxpayers requests if any problem arises due to adverse situations. This time the adverse situation is corona second wave and impact is huge that filers are not able to complete the compliances on time as restrictions are going on at respective states.   Extension is a golden opportunity to the taxpayers, tax consultants and stakeholders as the compliances time is extended considering the best interest of their health. NEW AMENDED DUE DATES FOR FILING FORM GSTR-3B IN GST BY REGISTERED TAXPAYERS

  a nOTIFICATION HAS BEEN issued to make TAXPAYERS aware of gstr-3b MODIFIED DUE DATES BY CBIC New Amended Due dates for filing of Form GSTR-3B by Taxpayers in GST.   1)     Registered Persons Opted for Monthly return of GSTR-3B - Due date for filing is 20 th of following month. ( APPLICABLE TO ALL STATES AND UNION TERRITORIES ) 2)       Registered Persons Opted for Quarterly return of GSTR – 3B - Due Dates differ as per notification 82/2020 10  10  States and 5 Union Territories have due date of filing as 22 nd of the month following the quarter and remaining 18 States and 4Union Territories have due date of filing as 24th of the month following the quarter.   REVISED CRITERIA FOR MSME UDYAM REGISTRATION TURNOVER LIMITS INCREASED FOR MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES Business enterprises shall be categorized as a micro, small, medium business enterprise on the basis of the following revised criteria. Criteria is reproduced for your information below (i) a micro enterprise , where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed (one)   1 crore rupees and turnover does not exceed (five)  5  crore rupees; (ii) a small enterprise , where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed (ten)  10   crore rupees and turnover does not exceed (fifty)  50   crore rupees; and (iii) a medium enterprise , where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed (fifty)  50   crore rupees and turnover does not exceed (two hundred and fifty)  250  crore rupees.
