According to reports foreign travellers will be more interested to explore new areas no matter how far they may be.  Average stay of a foreign tourist in a country is three weeks and spends an average of 34 dollars per day. A small initiative like waiving off the Visa fees for these travellers will attract them.  India  has taken this initiative wisely at the right time. To encourage the tourists who are ready to explore India, Indian Government has waived off the Visa fee to first 5 Lakh tourists once visa issue process starts. 

This scheme will be valid till 31st March'2022 or till the completion of 5 Lakh Visa Applications which ever comes first. Free of Visa cost offer is applicable only once per tourists per visit.  Check the applicability terms and conditions once before applying for free visa.

There would a revenue impact on Government of India to the level of 100 crore but this can easily be covered if the strategy is implemented in a proper way and revenue will be generated in other ways. Persons fully dependent on Tourists, Tourism stakeholders will see some income which is much needed to over come the pandemic impact.
