238223 shell companies struck-off/removed from Register by Government of India
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA IDENTIFIED FEW MORE SHELL COMPANIES.
238223 COMPANIES ARE CATEGORISED AS SHELL COMPANIES FROM YEAR 2018-JUNE 2021.
Government of India has struck-off "238223 Shell companies" available in different states. There is no proper definition for Shell Company in the Companies Act but few companies are termed and highlighted as "Shell Companies" because these companies are mainly used for illegal purposes without having any business operations.
Illegal purposes list includes:
1) TAX EVASION
2) MONEY LAUNDERING
3) OBSCURING OWNERSHIP
4) BENAMI PROPERTIES AND SO ON
A special task force is been set up by Government of India and frequent drives are been conducted by these officials to find out the shell companies.
Government of India is suggested by special task force experts to use red flag indicators as intimation to investors, stakeholders about these shell companies. Soon Shell Companies can bee seen with some unique indications to differentiate them from normal companies.
Government of India has taken action of struck-off on these shell companies identified during the period 2018 to June 2021. Names of these Shell companies has been removed from the Register of Companies by ROC Authorities under section 248 of Companies Act'2013.
Registrar of Companies Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore have most number of shell companies in the struck-off list.
